Betta's color transformation
Here's my boy, I picked him up at 4 months old and he was labeled as opal. Got a couple pics to show the progress - first one's from April, second's from today. Marble might be a better fit, haha.

opaline's delta is indeed carrying the marble gene, and possibly even the grizzle gene. Fluxx's young age at sale often means their colors and patterns transform significantly between 8-12 months old.

Just learned about the grizzle gene, thanks velvet8. Now I'm curious about other genes too, gonna do some reading tonight.

I just found out about the grizzle gene myself, I guess it's pretty new - apparently wasn't widely known till 2019
