Thanks Liz! It looks like that the cross contamination thing only happens between discus then. That's a huge relief!

What about between discus then? What are the chances? 1 out 10?



I've found that cross contamination isn't just between discus. It's a risk when mixing any fish from different sources. Even if it's just a couple of plecos, it's still a risk. I've had my share of issues with ich, velvet, and bacterial infections from fish brought home from pet stores. I've learned to always QT my fish, no matter where they come from. It's just not worth the risk of bringing in an infection. Clean water and good QT practices are less expensive than dealing with sick fish.
