Can plecos and bumble bee gobies coexist without food competition?

Post by Nutty »

Plecos are bottom feeders, they mostly eat at night. If you have bumble bee gobies in the same tank, there's a chance the plecos might steal their food.

They won't cohabitate due to differing water requirements. Bumble bee gobies need water with a mix of salt and minerals, whereas plecos require freshwater without these additives.

I just want to know, will they take each other's food?

You got your answer already, but I'll give you a literal one - no, they won't steal each other's food, because they won't be in the same tank to begin with.

It's not about withholding advice, it's just that the scenario you're describing is a bad idea for the fish. No one wants to see a fish harmed, so we're not going to entertain the possibility. Just set up separate tanks and avoid the issue altogether.
