kribs won't pair

Post by fisher_2 »

I've had 3 kribensis for nearly 2 weeks now - 1 male and 2 females. The dominant female is marking the other 2 and digging under an ornament. The other female is dancing in front of the male, but he doesn't seem interested. I'm a bit puzzled, why won't they pair off?

Honestly, I'm surprised you went with two females, fluxx. I think a single pair would be the way to go, lessens the chances of fighting and stress. Pick the female with the most vibrant pink coloration - that's usually a good sign of health and readiness to breed. Make sure to feed them some high-quality foods, like bloodworms, and do a thorough water change with slightly cooler water. That's what worked for me in the past.

I'd stick with the dancing female and the male krib. Return the other female, she's causing issues. In my experience, bloodworms aren't worth the hassle, try frozen brine shrimp and some NLS instead.
