a small mbuna community

Post by novakid »

I'm working with a 20-gallon long tank and was thinking about setting up a small community, maybe something with saulosi, but I'm not sure if it's feasible. My pH levels are a bit all over the place, ranging from 7.2 to 7.6 depending on the test. I was hoping to do something different from the typical tang tank. Any input would be appreciated.

A small group of saulosi could work well for you, that's probably your best option considering what you're looking for.

So i was thinking maybe one male, three females, and just some basic decor like rocks, coflake sand substrate, see how it goes.

A 20G is a bit of a squeeze, I think. If you're planning on upgrading to a bigger tank down the line, then having 3 saulosi in a 20G temporarily might just work out.
