about kribs

Post by dreamhunt »

I've got a male and female krib, and the female's been in and out of this hole in my rock. The male's being super protective, won't let anyone near it. So I'm wondering, has she laid eggs? If she has, will the male keep them safe or will they get eaten?

Sounds like they could be breeding to me. When we had ours breed, the male always guarded the nest. They get pretty aggressive towards other fish during this time, very protective.

The male's being quite aggressive, going for all the other fish. I'm a bit concerned it'll harm them, is that likely to happen?

I had to rehome my breeding Kribs, they became super aggressive and started nipping my Keyhole's fins to shreds - the Kribs were tiny compared to the Keyholes.

Yes, they can harm bottom dwellers if they venture too close. What other fish do you have in the tank with the kribs?

Neons, Rams, a few Catfish, Angels and some Mollys. They all seem to be keeping out of the Krib's way at the moment, but I'm a bit worried about the Neons, they're quite small.

Stuck now. Male's being aggressive, female's still in and out of the hole. Could be eggs in there, but how to know for sure?
