my reef tank transformation with before and after pictures

Post by sweetie_22 »

initially i wasnt sold on this setup

then i went ahead and built it

http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=296905&hl

now its transformed, still needs a bit more cover for the egg crate tho

sand was pretty stirred up so its looking a bit murky atm

fish are hiding in the shelf space (camera flash made it look darker than it is)

what do you think

Looks brilliant now. Really loving the transformation, it's come a long way from the before pics.

Looks like a solid effort with the egg crate and pipes, just needs a bit of filling in and it'll be looking sharp. You've definitely got the flow sorted, that's for sure.

How much LR did you end up with in the 400 Bae? Is it enough to fly solo as the only filter or have you got other plans in the works?

About 25 kg, but I've also got a huge external UV, a big external filter, a V2 400 skimmer, 4 smallish powerheads, and another slightly bigger one. Plus, I just got two Tunze 6100's and a controller for 35 quid including postage, which I think is a steal.

Cheers, it's been a bit strange though, didn't see my engineer goby for ages and now it's popping up all over the place, fingers crossed it stays out and about, been a nice surprise.

Updated, added a few small (6 inch) bits of Tonga LR last night and it's looking better already.

The shelf is looking a lot clearer now.

Tank's looking great, really coming along. What's the plan for stocking, more coflakes and fish I presume? I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for updates.
