Identifying the color of this hammer coral

Post by Kalixa9 »

I'm still getting to know hammers. I got this big one recently, what colour would you call this one? Not the green ones in the photo.

I've come across this type before, it's the one they market as the ultra orange hammer. Had a few in the past, but to be honest, my experience hasn't been great. The colour seems to shift depending on the lighting - it's more of a pink/peach hue under white lights, but takes on a peachy orange tone under blue lights. Nice find, by the way.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's mine, yeah. The LFS owner told me it was orange, but to be honest, I was expecting a different shade of orange, so just wanted to get some input from you guys.

How much did you end up paying for it, I'm curious? They usually go for $200-$500.

I've seen some vibrant colors in my time, but that orange hammer looks pretty muted to me. For $200-$500, I'd expect something that really jumps out. Hopefully the blues will bring it to life, but I'm curious - did you break the bank for it?

That's a pretty weak orange, if you ask me. It's more like peach brown. Congrats on the new hammer, though.

Thanks for the clarification, I'm still getting the hang of these hammer colors. As a newbie, I get confused about the different shades. I paid $190 for mine, by the way.

I still think that's a pretty penny, but I guess it's all relative. Either way, it's a gorgeous piece. Good luck with it.

I'd call that coral peachy brown, not mauve, but congrats on the purchase.

My experience with wall hammers was pretty abysmal, to be honest. I'd say I had a 90% failure rate, which is pretty rough. Hoping you'll have better luck with yours, so do keep us updated on how it goes.
