Can i add more fish to my tank

Post by sweetie_22 »

i was reading about scats and monos in marine setups - are they reef safe, can you keep them in a full marine tank. would they be a good fit for my 100 gal setup, considering the stocking list in my sig.

my tank's got a serifil external filter /canister, a huge uv sterilizer and a v2 skimmer, plus 28kg of live rock.

They're fine in full marine, I've just added 3 scats and 3 monos to my tank today. Pretty sure they're reef safe, and from what I've read, scats will even eat aiptasia and hair algae, which is a bonus.

What's your filtration setup, skimmer and all that. Having a 100gal tank is great but if your skimmer is subpar, filtration is lacking and rock is limited, you'll likely struggle. I'm prepared for some backlash, but I've run a 300l tank with an aquamedic turbo flotor, 50kg of rock, a fluval 404 with alfa grog and 5000 l/h. I had a pretty impressive stock list - 3 tangs, 2 clowns, loads of coflakes anemonies, motile inverts galore, a morish idol and a cleaner wrasse. The only issues I faced were keeping up with coflake fragging and the food bills. On a side note, I had a gkento4t mantis - don't glue all your rocks together, trust me. But with a steady food supply, he was happy as a clam.
