discussing the beauty of peacocks
I just got my new jewels and they're doing great. They're having a blast chasing the air bubbles - so cute and fun to watch. I'm thinking of adding some strawberry peacocks, maybe a pair or just one if that's what they'd like. I've got a 25-gallon tank with just the two female jewels in it right now. What do you think about adding peacocks or maybe some labs? The lfs has blue haps on sale, but I've heard they might be too big for my tank. I'm also considering albino snow blue cichlids or red zebras. I know it's a lot to choose from, but I want to make sure I pick some that can coexist. Which ones do you think would work well together? And if I had to pick just three, what would you recommend?
Re: discussing the beauty of peacocks
When my jewels grow up, they'll probably outgrow the 25 gallons, I've heard it's recommended 20 gallons for one, then 10 gallons for each extra one you add.

That's a bummer, I'll rehome the jewels. What about the strawberry peacocks or labs, can they coexist in a 25 gallon with other fish?
Re: discussing the beauty of peacocks
Need some advice. I'm looking to add some new fish to my 25 gallon tank. I have 2 female jewels in there now and they're doing great, lots of fun to watch. I was thinking of adding a pair of strawberry peacocks or maybe just one, depending on what they want. Or maybe some labs. The lfs has a sale on blue haps, but I've heard they might be too big for my tank. Also considering albino snow blue cichlid or red zebra. I know it's a lot to choose from, but I want to make sure I pick fish that can coexist. What do you think?

I'd hold off on adding more fish. Those jewels will outgrow your tank and get aggressive with age. I learned that the hard way - had a single jewel in my 65 gallon and it wouldn't back down from the larger fish. It was in a community tank initially, but I had to move it when it started picking fights with everyone.
