Agreed. Too much light without CO2 is just asking for algae trouble.

If you ever decide to upgrade to faster-growing plants, then CO2 might be worth it. But for now, you're good.

Yeah, my tank's got some Crypts and they're doin' just fine without CO2. Just gotta be patient.

Patience is key with low-tech. Plants won't explode overnight, but they'll get there.
