Anyone tried those battery operated vacuums? Saw one at the store but dunno if it's worth the cash. My Discus are in a 50 gallon with sand and a canister filter. Water changes are a pain with the buckets.

I've heard mixed reviews. Some say they're weak and die fast. Stick with the Python or Aqueon systems, they're more reliable. My Discus tank has a mix of sand and gravel, and the Python handles both fine.

For anyone using a Python, remember to clean the tubing occasionally. Algae and gunk can build up inside. I run a bleach solution through mine once a month, then rinse it well. My Discus are in a planted 75 gallon with CO2, and water quality is crucial.
