Mine's the same with light. Think it's the glare off the glass. I stuck some java moss on the back wall, cuts the reflection and he's out more.

Anyone else notice bettas get weird vibes from LED lights? Mine always hides when I crank up the brightness. I keep mine at 50% now with floating plants to diffuse it, way happier.

Totally. I use a dimmer timer, ramps up slowly like sunrise. No more freak-outs when the lights kick on.
