Is friendliness a priority

Considering the nature of Fire Gobies, I'd say they're quite friendly. Their docile behavior makes them a great addition to community tanks.

I've just got 2 fire gobies and they're the most laid-back fish I've ever had. I've got them in a tank with a couple of clown fish, a royal gramma, and a regal tang.

Fire gobies are really easily spooked, so you'll need plenty of hiding spots for them. A quiet tank with no loudmouths and a secure lid are a must - they can make a break for it if they get scared. It's best to keep them on their own or in pairs, as they can get a bit testy with each other. When I first got mine, I had to give them live food, but they're happy with frozen stuff now.
