identification request

Post by stardust1 »

ive been given a name for a fish that sounds like "silver belly spotted...(something)".

ive seen a blurry pic of it, its got yellow on top and a silver belly, pretty standard size, about like a "yellow tail blue damsel".

anyone got an idea what it could be, maybe a clear pic?

Could be a silver bellied wrasse, like Halichoeres leucoxanthus. edit: found a pic, check out http/www.aquafauna.be/marins/Fish/Wrasse...(trispilus).JPG

Thanks for the ID.

So what's the lowdown on these silver bellied wrasse?
Are they pretty chill with other fish, or do they get a bit testy?

They're a peaceful and active little fish, one of my favourite wrasses.
