Anyone Had Luck with Anubias?
My anubias aren't growing well in my 20-gallon tank. I've got them tied to driftwood, low light, and liquid ferts once a week. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate. Any tips?

Yo, anubias are chill but slow growers. You gotta be patient, man. They don't need much light, so maybe cut back on the ferts too. Less is more with these dudes.

I had the same issue until I moved mine closer to the filter output. The flow seems to help them perk up. Maybe try that? Also, are you using CO2?

Anubias prefer stable conditions. If you're dosing ferts inconsistently, that could stunt growth. Stick to a schedule and avoid burying the rhizome. It's a common mistake.

I agree with gold. Anubias thrive on neglect. Over-fertilizing can cause algae issues, which might compete with them.

What's your lighting duration? Too much light can cause algae on anubias leaves, which slows growth. I keep mine on for 6 hours max.

I've had luck with anubias in my shrimp tank. They love the biofilm on the leaves. Maybe add some shrimp? They're like little cleaners.

Anubias are epiphytes, so they absorb nutrients from the water column. If your tank is too clean, they might struggle. Try increasing nitrates slightly, but keep it under 20 ppm.

I've seen anubias melt when moved. If you recently added them, give them time to adjust. They'll bounce back if conditions are right.

Flow is key! I noticed mine grow faster near the filter too. CO2 isn't necessary, but it can help if you're aiming for faster growth.
