Option two sounds fun, but yeah, the Angelfish might be a wild card. Cherry Barbs are easy though, and Kuhlis are quirky. You got a tight lid? Those loaches are escape artists.

Good call on the lid. I lost a Kuhli once because I didn't think they'd jump. Lesson learned.

Glad you're leaning toward option one. The Fluval 307 should handle the bioload fine. Just watch the Rams for any signs of stress during acclimation. They can be sensitive to sudden changes.
