keeping small cichlids

Post by torchy »

Looking to keep cichlids that stay small, was thinking of a few dwarf species. Got a ruby shark as a tank mate already, so need ones that'll get along. Any ideas would be great, thanks.

Not a good idea with a shark, even a ruby one. They may not be as aggressive as some other sharks, but I'd still advise against keeping dwarf cichlids with them.

I think shellies would be perfect for you, torchy. I've never personally kept them, but I've heard great things. They're small, peaceful, and can thrive in a well-maintained tank.

However, I have to agree with riverrun4 about the shark - it's just not a good idea. Sorry, I know you mentioned it as a tankmate, but it's not worth the risk.
