Kribensis care and advice
Kribensis care and advice
I recently picked up a breeding pair of kribensis at an aquarium society auction. I've got a confirmed male in my 75 gallon already, and I'm wondering if it's safe to add the new pair to the tank. Will the two males go at it? What about the female - will she be okay? The tank's got a ton of hiding spots with all the plants, so I'm hoping that'll help.
Re: Kribensis care and advice
Honestly, I wouldn't take the risk, even with a 75-gallon tank. To breed and rear the fry successfully, I believe the pair should be on their own. Having two males could lead to fighting, and that's a lot of stress for the female. Maybe someone with experience has had success with multiple males, but I'd love to hear their thoughts on it.
Re: Kribensis care and advice
Honestly, I'm no expert, but in my experience with two males, I think you're asking for trouble if you're looking to breed. Those two males will likely go at it, and my female even turned on the unwanted male in my tank.
