How's the lighting in your tank, Olive? Bright light can stress them during breeding. I use a dim LED on a timer, 8 hours a day. Also, what's your feeding routine? High-protein diet helps.

I second this. Depth matters, but consistency in water params is key. I test daily during breeding attempts.
