Java fern vs crypts - which is easier?

Java Fern's the way to go if you want something low maintenance. Crypts can be a pain if you're not careful with water changes or moving them around.

Java Fern's easier. Crypts can be tricky if you're not used to them.

Yeah, Crypts are like that one friend who's always dramatic but eventually gets over it. Java Fern's the chill friend who never complains.

If you decide to try Crypts later, just know they'll likely melt at first. It's normal, and they'll grow back if you give them time. Java Fern's definitely the safer bet for now.
