Another myth is that bettas don't need filters or heaters. Even in community tanks, stable temps and clean water are non-negotiable. A sponge filter works great for bettas and tank mates.

Yep, and overstocking is a big no. Even peaceful tank mates can stress a betta if the tank's too crowded. Always check bioload before adding more fish.
