Hi everyone,
I'm really worried about my Socolofi. It developed a red spot last week and despite regular water changes and salt treatment, the spot is getting bigger. Now the fin is actually tearing apart, which is really alarming. I've isolated the fish, but I'm at a loss for what to do next. I desperately need your help to identify and cure this illness. The reason I'm so concerned is that this fish was the peacemaker in my cichlid tank - if it dies, I'm expecting complete chaos to erupt.

saving my socolofi: a plea for help
Re: saving my socolofi: a plea for help
You might want to consider using an antibacterial treatment, if possible, to combat the infection on your Socolofi.
If not, another option could be iodine - but you'd need to catch the fish and apply it directly to the affected area, rather than adding it to the tank.
