Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I'll try adding some floating plants and tweaking the flow. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate, pH 6.8, temp 78F.

I once had a Cardinal that hid for a month before it finally came out. Patience is key.
