My clownfish started doing backflips when I overdosed mag once. Kidding! But seriously, test twice before dosing. My buddy nuked his tank by misreading the syringe. 1500 mag = unhappy everything. Stick to the golden 1350 range.

I'm new to this. How often should I test magnesium? Testing weekly seems like a lot with my work schedule.

Once you're stable, monthly testing is fine unless you see issues. I only test mag weekly when adjusting levels. Get an automatic doser if you're busy—game changer.
