Coral enthusiasts unite

Post by finleyd »

After three long months without corals, I'm thrilled to finally have them back in my aquarium. The wait was worth it, as my tank had finally cycled and I felt it was the perfect time to introduce some new additions.

I actually made the decision to get corals about two weeks ago, and yesterday was the day I picked them up from work - I'm lucky enough to work at an aquarium store, so it's always easy to find what I'm looking for. I ended up coming home with six beautiful corals, and I couldn't be happier.

My new additions include three Hammers, an Elegance, and a gorgeous Sinuous Bubble Coral. The Bubble Coral will eventually get its own setup, but for now, it's just waiting for me to get around to it.

I also picked up a Sunflower Coral, which I decided to toss into the sump just to see how it does - we'll see what happens.

Just got my new hammer frag and it's thriving, two heads and all. My LED's seem to be doing the trick, growth is looking great.

It's possible that those tiny tentacles are new growth, but I'm leaning more towards the coral just getting used to its new environment and finally opening up fully.

Yeah, that makes sense. The green ones are pretty much fully open now, but the yellow one's still taking its time. I'm just letting it do its thing for now, see how it goes.

That poor PBT... it's probably just stressed from the move.

Not a PBT, by the way. And just a temp resident in that tank, so hold off on the assumptions for now.

My mistake earlier, it's indeed a regal. Not sure what I was thinking with the PBT.

You've got a regal in a tank that's barely suitable for the clownfish, what's the plan there?

You're misinformed, my clowns are perfectly sized. Not sure where you got that idea from.

As for the regal, it's only temporary because it's mine and I'm waiting for our new place where we'll set up a larger reef tank.
