betta tank decoration ideas

Post by tidebrook »

I'm setting up a new 10 gallon tank for my betta and want some unique decoration ideas. What's worked best for you guys? I've got a sponge filter, sand substrate, and a heater set to 78F.

I've had good luck with driftwood and live plants like java fern. They're low maintenance and give plenty of hiding spots. Just make sure the wood is pre-soaked to avoid tannins if you don't like the tinted water.

Yo, go for some anubias tied to rocks. Super easy, and my fish loves chilling under the leaves. Also, floating plants like frogbit give a cool vibe and help with light diffusion.

If you're into DIY, you can make caves from terracotta pots. Just sand the edges smooth. My betta's all about his lil' hideout, and it's cheap as heck.

Seconding the live plants. My tank's got a mix of crypts and dwarf hairgrass. The betta loves weaving through the grass, and it keeps the water clean.

That's a solid idea! I've also used PVC pipes wrapped in moss for a more natural look. Works like a charm.

I keep it simple with smooth rocks and a few silk plants. Less maintenance, and my fish seems happy enough.

For a 10 gallon, you've got room to get creative. I'd recommend a mix of tall plants like vals in the back and shorter ones up front. Adds depth and gives your betta zones to explore.

I've found that bettas enjoy vertical space too. Adding a tall piece of driftwood or a rock stack gives them more territory to claim. Just avoid sharp edges.

What about colored gravel? I've seen some cool setups with black sand and bright plants. Makes the fish pop.
