Keeping healthy new corals

Post by foxrun »

Just got this torch coral home and I'm eager to hear your thoughts.

It's been in the tank for a day now.

I also have a couple of other corals that are causing me some concern.

My fox coral, which I've had since November, hasn't fully extended in the past three weeks.

The same issue is happening with my tongue coral.

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Torch - looks great, nice addition to the tank.
Fox Coral - not looking good, that receding tissue is a major concern, might be running out of time with this one.
Pavona - seems to be doing alright, no major issues here.
Herpolitha - I'm unsure about this one, need more info or time to see how it develops.

I'm having trouble seeing the receding tissue on the fox coral, can you point it out to me? It used to extend a lot more, but it stopped about a month ago. I moved it to its current spot two days ago, and this morning it was out a bit more, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. With the tongue coral, I notice some tiny bumps that look like its tentacles, so I'm thinking it might be starting to like its new spot.
