Pairing kribs

Post by fisher_2 »

Hey everyone, so it's been exactly 2 weeks since I got my kribensis - 2 females and 1 male. Initially, there was some aggression but they've since chilled out. I'm pretty sure I've got a pair now - the female's this gorgeous bright cherry red and she swims by the male, who's curling up and vibrating. They're super calm with each other. They're both just hovering above this makeshift cave, and the male keeps going in. Just noticed the male's vibrating back at the female - they were literally doing it at the same time. So, do you guys think they'll breed soon?

I think it'd be better if you kept all your updates in one thread, makes it easier for us to follow along and we can see pics if they do end up breeding. You mentioned in your first post it was almost 2 weeks, now you're saying exactly 2 weeks, so I'm guessing you'd only had them a week back then?

Give them some time, my kribs took a bit to pair up, about 3 weeks, and then another 2 weeks to lay eggs. It does take a while, but it'll happen, trust me. The behaviour you're seeing is them showing off their colours to each other, it's like they're saying "hey, I'm interested in breeding".

No offence meant, just trying to make your posts a bit easier to follow.

No need for separate threads, just keep it in one. Makes it easier to track progress and add pics if they do end up breeding.
