Do kribensis nippers eat fins?

Hey guys, just a quick question about Kribensis - I read somewhere they're fin-nippers, so I'm wondering if that's true and if I should be worried about keeping them with other fish. I was already thinking twice about putting angelfish in the same tank, but now I'm concerned about my gourami - I've got one in another tank and was planning to move it to the community tank with a mate. Would the kribs go after the gourami's fins? Any thoughts on this would be great.

kribs tend to be more aggressive than other dwarf cichlids. I wouldn't call them a fin nipper in the same way I'd call a tiger barb or Buenos Aires tetra a fin nipper, but more of a territorial species. they're not typically fin-nippers, but will defend their territory. you could keep them with gouramis with caution, as long as they're a semi-aggressive species of gourami.

Considering the kribs' territorial nature, I'm thinking of pairing them with a pair of pearls and maybe some other tetras - should be okay, right?

Should be fine, just don't get fin nipping tetras. Red eye tetras or bleeding heart tetras, they're big enough to handle any krib aggression. Avoid small species like neons and such.

I had a pair of kribs that were breeding in the same tank as my angelfish and surprisingly, they coexisted peacefully, no issues whatsoever. The angelfish didn't bother them, and vice versa. However, my corydoras were a different story altogether - they seemed to be the ones that caught the brunt of my kribs' aggression.

I think tank size plays a big role in all this. A breeding pair of kribs can be a real treat, but they do get pretty feisty when they spawn. If you've got the space to give them a few good hiding spots, they should be alright. Just watch out for any other bottom-dwellers that might wander into their territory.

If your tank is pretty deep, I think you'll be in the clear. The angels will stick to the upper levels and leave the kribs' hideouts alone.
