Determining the sex of this individual
Determining the sex of this individual
I'm completely in the dark about this, but I've got my fingers crossed it's what I'm hoping for... all will be revealed once I find out the gender, and let's just say I'm really rooting for a specific outcome. If it's not what I'm expecting, well, it's going to be a tough decision.

Looks like a female to me, I'm pretty sure anyway, could be wrong.

Hope I'm right. That first reply freaked me out a bit... does anyone know for sure?coralhaven wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 7:46 pm Looks like a female to me, I'm pretty sure anyway, could be wrong.

Looks like a female, slightly rounded and pink on the belly.

100% female, I'm pretty sure of it. If you're interested, I have a breeding journal in the africans section you can check out for reference.
Re: Determining the sex of this individual
No trailing dorsal fin, and the tail fin isn't pointed either. Agreeing with the others, I think it's a female.
Re: Determining the sex of this individual
Definitely Female, 100%.
Males tend to have less vibrant colors even when they're in breeding mode.
The dorsal fin on a male is typically pointed, whereas this one isn't, and the tail fin is more like the spade symbol on a playing card.

Not this one, I'm still unsure about mine though.

Yeah, second one's a male, no doubt.
