anyone keeping plants with cichlids?

I've never had luck with plants and cichlids. They always end up ripped out or eaten. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

It's not just you. Cichlids are notorious for this. Try heavier plants or ones that can be anchored securely.

Another tip: if you're adding new plants, do it during a water change when the fish are a bit stressed. They might not notice the plants as much.

That's a clever idea. Never thought of that. Might give it a shot.
