I've got a 55 gallon with a canister filter, and my Discus hate strong flow. I angled the output toward the glass to break the current. Works pretty well.

If you're still tweaking things, try observing them after each change. Discus are pretty good at showing when they're uncomfortable. Mine hide near the bottom if the flow's too much.

Never thought about flow being an issue. My tank's small, 40 gallons, but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads-up.

I've seen some folks use PVC pipes to redirect flow. Might be worth a shot if the spray bar doesn't cut it.

My Discus seem fine with moderate flow, but I've got lots of plants breaking it up. Maybe add some driftwood or tall plants to slow things down?
