Is the tank full?

Post by microvolt »

I've got a 24g nanocube with a few fish in it - 1 flame angel, 1 clown, 1 cleaner wrasse, and 1 YW goby. Does this sound like a full system to you guys?

I also threw together a vid that shows the tank a bit better.

I'm curious, what's your vision for the tank? Five fish can work in a 24-gallon setup, it really depends on the species you're planning to introduce.

I'm a firm believer in less is more when it comes to stocking, so I'd say your tank is pretty full already. I like to err on the side of caution and think that the fewer fish we add, the lower the risk of something going wrong. By the way, does your YW goby have a shrimp partner to keep it company?

when i say the tank is full, i'm really wondering if you think the bio-load is pretty high for a 24g

Considering the conversation flow, I'd say you've got a decent setup going on. What kind of additions were you thinking of making to this tank, if any?

Honestly, I haven't been actively searching for new fish additions lately, as nothing's really caught my eye in terms of suitable size.

I'd say your tank's bio-load is pretty substantial. Adding more sand would be a good idea, though - that way, you could potentially introduce a pistol shrimp and see if they pair up with your existing YW goby. You've already got a peppermint and a cleaner shrimp, right?
