best food for LPS corals

Post by floriks »

I've been feeding my LPS a mix of mysis shrimp and reef roids, but they don't seem to be thriving. What's the best food to get them growing faster? My tank is a 40-gallon with T5 lighting, and parameters are stable, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5 nitrate.

Mysis is solid, but have you tried adding amino acids? I've had great results with Brightwell Aquatics Aminomega. My Duncan's doubled in size after a month. Also, what's your feeding schedule like?

Yo, ditch the mysis and grab some LRS Reef Frenzy. That stuff's legit. My hammers went nuts after switching. Tank's a 75-gallon with Radions, 10 nitrate, and weekly 10% water changes.

Amino acids are key, but don't overlook phytoplankton. I dose live phyto weekly, and my Acans have never looked better. What's your flow like? Too much can stress them during feeding.

How often are you feeding? Overfeeding can mess with water quality. I stick to every other day with a mix of frozen and pellets.

LRS is overrated. Try some straight-up rotifers. My tank's a hot mess, but the corals don't care. 20-gallon nano, no skimmer, just vibes and weekly water changes.

I use a mix of reef roids and oyster eggs. My tank is a 30-gallon with AI Prime lighting. Parameters are stable, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate.

Totally agree! Aminos made a huge difference for my Blastos. Also, try target feeding with a pipette. It's a game-changer.

I've had luck with Fauna Marin LPS Pellets. Easy to dose, and my corals seem to love it. Tank's a 50-gallon with Kessils, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5 nitrate.

Phyto and amino acids are great, but don't forget about trace elements. I dose Red Sea Colors A,B,C, and my LPS are thriving. What's your calcium level at?
