stocking a 35-gallon aquarium
I just got a cherub angelfish, clown wrasse, and a royal gramma, what else should I throw in? I've got the basics covered - skimmer, t-5 lighting, 30 pounds of live rock, penguin 350 pump, and a koflakeia 1, plus a filter if I need it.

Hi OceanicApe, welcome to the community. When you mentioned a clown wrasse, I'm assuming you're referring to a Coris gaimard. If that's the case, I have to advise that your tank might be too small, as they can grow up to 15 inches.
Considering your tank size is 35 gallons, it's generally recommended to allow about 17.5 inches of space for fish, which would leave you with only 2 inches of room. I'd recommend double-checking the compatibility of fish with your tank size.
If you're set on getting a wrasse, I'd suggest looking into flasher wrasses instead - they're more suitable for a tank of your size. Alternatively, you could also consider blennies or gobies as great options for your aquarium.

Appreciate the advice, I'm probably going to skip the clown wrasse and instead add a few chromis or maybe a yellow watchman goby.nixora wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 3:38 am Hi OceanicApe, welcome to the community. Also worth considering, there's the clown fairy wrasse, if that's what you were looking at. These are lovely fish, I almost picked one up myself.
Chromis are something I'd approach with caution though. They do grow to a decent size and can be pretty aggressive towards each other unless you've got a larger group.
