The sand substrate is fine, but make sure it's not too deep. Anaerobic pockets can form and release toxins. Stir it gently during water changes. How often do you vacuum the substrate?

Yeah, and don't forget to check the temp consistency. If the heater's sketchy, it could be causing stress. What brand heater you using? I've had some crap ones fail on me before.

Good point. Also, guppies can fade if they're not getting enough vitamins. Try adding some crushed garlic to their food. It's a natural immune booster.

If the issue persists after treatment, consider isolating the affected guppy in a quarantine tank. Sometimes, the stress of being in a community tank can exacerbate health issues. Do you have a spare tank or breeder box?

Man, I hope your guppy pulls through. Keep us posted, yeah? And maybe throw in some floating plants to give 'em more cover. Guppies feel safer with some overhead coverage.
