Poll on ocellaris clownfish

I voted yes after seeing healthy clowns in 10gal nano's. However, personally, I'd want at least 20gals for mine, ideally 30gal. I did have to temporarily put one in a 17gal due to aggression issues - she was fine, but much happier back in the 55gal.

I voted yes, though I still think the poll could be clearer. Tank dimensions play a big role here - consider the length, width, and height. A 20 long, for example, has the same height and width as a standard 10 gallon, but it's 10 inches longer. While clowns could survive in a 10 gallon, I think it's worth spending a bit more on a 20 long - it's not a huge difference in the grand scheme. I also voted yes because, let's be honest, most reefers upgrade within the first year. So, chances are you'll be getting a larger tank eventually anyway.

You might be able to make do in a small space, but that doesn't mean it's ideal. Just like how you could get by in a tiny apartment, but wouldn't you rather have a big house with plenty of room to breathe? For clowns, a minimum of 30 gallons is really the way to go if you want them to live their best lives.

I agree with the reasoning, personally I think they'd be better off in a larger tank, even if they can technically survive in a 10 gallon.

I voted no, mainly because while they might be alright initially, clowns do grow to a considerable size and are quite energetic. As fully grown adults, I think they'd ultimately find the space a bit restrictive.

I think Percula clownfish would actually thrive in a 10-gallon tank. Their smaller size compared to Ocellaris clowns makes them a more suitable fit. As long as the water quality is top-notch, they should be content. It's worth noting that in their natural habitat, Percula clownfish tend to stay close to their anemones, so they don't require a lot of swimming space.
