sentry duties for twins

Post by rusticfox »

Came across something interesting at feeding time today. The watchman and hi fin gobies were taking turns keeping watch from the same burrow.

Gobies aren't exactly known for sharing, they're usually pretty territorial. Never heard of two different species cohabiting, let alone in the same burrow.

Not the greatest pic, but hopefully I'll get a better one later.

Hey rusticfox,

Yeah I've found gobies to be super territorial too - my yellow watchman goby had a major freakout when I introduced a blue cheek goby, but now they're like two peas in a pod. They even share the same burrow, which is pretty cool. I think it's because there's more food that comes by that side of the tank, so my gobies and blennies are happy to share the burrows - everyone's a winner.

That's really interesting, I've never seen anything like it before.

That's really awesome to see, I've never seen different species of gobies sharing a burrow like that.
