Hi,
I'm after some advice,
I want to keep a pair of maroon clownfish in my 100ltr tank, is it suitable for them to thrive?
clownfish care and behavior
Re: clownfish care and behavior
100l for maroons is too small, they can get quite large. Maroons can become aggressive too. I'd look at a smaller clownfish species, like Ocellaris.
Re: clownfish care and behavior
Couldn't agree more.
Re: clownfish care and behavior
Thanks for the advice guys, I was thinking maybe just 1 clown would be alright? They only grow to around 10-11cm max, so would that be ok in my 100ltr tank?
Re: clownfish care and behavior
Wouldn't even consider putting one in a tank that small, to be honest. A lone clownfish, imo, is just sad. There are plenty of other nice-looking, smaller species out there, I'm sure you'll find one that catches your eye if you can't get a bigger tank.
Re: clownfish care and behavior
thanks for all your advice, really appreciate it. was thinking maybe a pair of percula clownfish or some pink skunk clownfish, what do you think?
Re: clownfish care and behavior
They're a much better fit, in my opinion.
Re: clownfish care and behavior
cheers,
which do you guys think is better, percula or pink skunk clownfish?

Re: clownfish care and behavior
They're both good, to be honest. Similar behavior, just pick the one you think looks better.
Re: clownfish care and behavior
I'm gonna go for a pair of percula clownfish, they'll look great in my toadstool coralflake.
