What's the best way to care for my houseplant?

Post by florapix »

I'm looking to add a few more plants to my 29-gallon tank. I'd love some suggestions for low to medium light plants. I've got sand with root tablets, so that should work for most plants. Currently, I've got Bacopa monnieri, Aponogeton madagascariensis, some Lemnaceae, Anubias, Marimos, Zorchzon sword, Rosette sword, Java moss, Dwarf chain sword, and a few others. Any ideas are welcome.

I'm a big fan of hygrophila, it's really easy to grow and does well in low to medium light, which sounds perfect for your tank.

Vallisneria - I just can't help but recommend it, its hardiness and beauty in the right conditions are truly impressive.

I appreciate the suggestions. I've actually been on the hunt for Vallisneria for a while now, but unfortunately, none of the local fish stores in my area carry it. Does anyone know of a reputable online store that sells Vallisneria?

I'll also be looking into Hygrophila, thanks for the tip.

I've had good luck buying plants online from Aquarium Plants Factory. They usually have Vallisneria Asiatica in stock, which I've purchased for my 30 gallon tank and been really happy with. They're based in Fontana, CA, so shipping distance and time of year are worth considering.
