exploring the world's rarest aquarium fish

Post by eleNt »

I'm curious, what's the rarest aquarium brand fish tank in your collection? Share your rare finds - I'd love to see the unique equipment and fish tank brands you own.

Honestly, I'm not big on specific tank brands, I just go with whatever works best for my setup.

I'm with Emeraldsea on this, I don't bother with specific brands. As long as it's quality and gets the job done, I'm good.

A functional tank is key for me. Safety is also non-negotiable. Beyond that, the brand name doesn't really factor into my enjoyment of the hobby.

Invest in quality equipment, but don't break the bank on it. Spend your money where it really counts – on the plants and fish that bring your tank to life.

I've got a few branded tanks, but honestly, most of mine aren't. Being the hands-on, DIY type, I like to create my own equipment whenever possible. I've even repurposed random items into tanks - if I think something can work, I'll give it a shot.

I'm with you on that, I've got brand tanks too, Aqueon's my go-to. I've always been interested in making my own equipment, but living with the folks makes that kinda tough. Plus, DIY can be pricey at times, so I'm all about finding deals - gotta stick to a budget, you know?

My rarest aquarium brand find is an old stainless/chrome frame tank that I had for over a decade - the kind held together with tar. Sadly, it got damaged during our last move, and I've been unable to track down a replacement frame since. Replacing the glass is relatively straightforward if you're comfortable working with tar.

Most of my tanks are now actually Aqueon, previously known as All-Glass. I also have a couple of tanks from glasscages.com that I picked up used.

The logos on these tanks are pretty neat - they're small plaques glued to the glass. I've got a 150-gallon tank and a 125-gallon tank from them.

Rareness can be relative, depending on where you are in the world - what's scarce in one place might be abundant elsewhere, especially considering this is an international community.
