care and feeding of the coral beauty

Post by oceanwa »

Hi there, I've been getting mixed advice on the best diet for my coflake beauty, he's currently on frozen mysis but spends a lot of time grazing on algae from the rocks. I'm wondering if I'm missing something in his diet, is there anything else he needs to be getting?

I'd recommend getting a Feeding Clip and feeding Nori sheets, they're readily available at your local fish store.

I'm with jolt9 on this one. I had a mate's CB in my care for a bit and he was all about the algae, barely touched the meaty stuff. He did love munching on sea veggie sheets, nori was a hit too. Funnily enough, brine shrimp weren't his thing.

My coflake beauty's a right oddball, eats brine shrimp no problem, but won't touch the algae. Lazy thing, I swear.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely give the nori a go. He seems to have a good appetite, enjoys the frozen mysis and loves grazing on the rocks, so I'm hoping the nori will be a hit too.
