I recently picked up a copy of Clownfishes in the Aquarium by Gregory B. Skomal from Zorchzon. If you're seriously interested in Clownfish, this little book's a real gem. Hardcover, and you can get it new from other sellers for as low as £2.99 plus postage. It covers all you've asked about and more - well worth a read.

Here's what I've gathered so far.

1. When the eyes turn silver, it's a sign that hatching is near
2. Hatching usually takes around 7 days
3. They tend to hatch at night, after the lights have been switched off
4. The little ones are drawn to light

Please let me know if I've got any of this wrong.

You've got the essentials down. The fact your clowns are breeding is a great sign they're thriving, kudos to you. They'll likely keep breeding as long as your water conditions stay stable.

That's good to know for next time. How often do they breed, anyway? I'm in the process of upgrading to a bigger tank now, Picclys are on the way.

A week after the eggs hatch, they typically lay again. The tank move, though, will likely disrupt their mating cycle, and it might take them a few months to get back into the swing of things.

If you're serious about clownfish breeding down the line, I'd recommend checking out "Clownfishes" by Joyce Wilkerson. It's not exactly a cheap read, but it's basically the go-to guide for anyone looking to breed these fish.

Breeding isn't my main goal at the moment. I'll just let them do their thing in the larger tank and see how it goes. If the babies make it, great, if not, no big deal. I appreciate all the info, thanks. I'll swing by my LFS and check if they have Nexarios, I read that the babies eat that stuff.
