Adding live rock to an aquarium with established fish
Re: Adding live rock to an aquarium with established fish
Check the water every 48 hours, let us know how it's looking and we'll be happy to help you out. Keep an eye on the stats and we'll guide you through it.

Nitrite, Nitrate and Ammonia all 0 for last couple of tests. Shopkeeper said it was cured, but I'm not taking any chances, giving it a bit more time.

It seems like the 'man in the shop' was spot on, it's indeed cured. Transporting it in water likely prevented any die-off, which is great news. I'd still suggest waiting another 24 hours, test the water parameters again, and if everything looks fine, you should be good to add it to your tank.Razonix wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:15 am I'm thinking of adding Live Rock to my tank, which I've had running for about 2 years now. I've got a pretty simple setup with 5 damsel fish, a shrimp, and 2 crabs. If I get the Live Rock from my supplier, do you think it'll already be cured? I'm looking to add 12kg, is it safe to add it all at once? I don't want to risk harming my fish.
My tank's 150ltr, or 33 gallons for those who don't do metric.

Tested it again today, still nothing, so I'm going to put it in tomorrow. Thanks for all your help, really appreciate it.

Glad to hear that, just make sure it's all good in the tank before you start making any changes. Consider keeping a journal so we can follow along with your progress, be great to see how it all goes.
