Is there a less aggressive betta species

Post by flumon »

I'm curious about keeping betta with other big tail fishes. Are there any betta species that can coexist with them?

You're asking about keeping betta with other fish, what specifically do you mean by 'big tail' - are you referring to guppies, angelfish, or something else entirely?

Fishes with elaborate fins or tails, such as fancy neptunes and dwarf gourami.

It's more about the individual fish's personality, rather than a specific species. Trial and error is really the way to go.

There's a multitude of peaceful Betta species out there. I've found this helpful resource that lists them - http://www.fishbase.org/identification/ ... enus=Betta. However, it's crucial to keep in mind that you should only house one Betta species per tank. Additionally, it's generally not recommended to keep Bettas and gouramis together, as they can be quite incompatible.
