Is this space too small
I've got a spare tank lying around, an AquaOne 320, and it's been collecting dust for 2 years. I was thinking of converting it to a marine tank, but I'm not sure if it's big enough.

I think I've come across people using these tanks for marine setups, but then again, could be something similar that's thrown me off.

To convert my aquaone 320 to a marine tank, I'd need to know what equipment I'd need to get. Would I have to change the filter, or maybe just upgrade it? And what about the heater, is it suitable for a marine tank or would I need a new one?

From what I've gathered, the AquaOne 320 tank is roughly 7 US gallons, correct? If you're new to this, maintaining water quality will be a challenge with such a small volume of water.
If you still want to give it a shot and convert it to a marine tank, you'll be restricted to a limited selection of fish and inverts. You might be able to squeeze in a small Goby species, a few hermit crabs, and some zoanthids, but that's about it.
A larger tank would make things significantly easier for you in the long run.
