Is my betta fish sick or just changing color?

I've had my betta for around four months. Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'm aware his fins are a bit rough - he's on the mend from fin rot. My main worry is whether he's unwell or not. He started getting these white spots on his fins, and my first thought was Ich, but it didn't have that cloudy appearance. Then, out of nowhere, this big white spot appeared just under his dorsal fin today. Is this a sign of illness, or is he just going through a color change?

Thanks for fixing the attachment issue. I've taken a look at the picture now. Unfortunately, I still can't provide a definitive answer without more information. Can you tell me more about your betta's behavior and the white spots on his fins?
