identifying a cichlid species

Rescued this fella from my local fish store where he was swimming with the wrong crowd, so I brought him home to figure out if he's a keeper or if I should rehome him for his own good.

That's quite a coincidence, I was just discussing a cichlid in another thread that bears a striking resemblance to this one - it's possible it's a juvenile Taiwan Reef Cichlid.
