A beginner's guide to seachem betta care

Post by florax »

Hi,

I'm considering using it and I was wondering if anyone has experience with it. Thinking of adjusting the pH, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. My pH is currently 7.6.

Your pH is within the suitable range for Bettas, which is between 6.0 and 8.0. Given that, using chemicals to adjust it seems unnecessary.

Betta Basics does its job as a water conditioner, taking care of chlorine, chloramine, and ammonia. However, it also claims to buffer the water to pH 7.0, which I think is unnecessary. In my opinion, it's generally better to avoid tampering with pH levels if possible. A simple water conditioner that removes chlorine and chloramine should be sufficient.
